Greece - Florida delivery trip. Stop in Palermo.
We have just arrived in Palermo - marina Villa Igiea.
After two weeks of preparations, including one-week isolation due to Covid, we have managed to set off from Piraeus. First to Aigina to the shipyard - milky oil in the gearbox - the next step was a short passage to Kalamatas to wait for the weather window. The yacht was arrested in Kalamatas although we have just come for the fuel! Covid is a reason for Greeks to do whatever they want. Police did not know the rules or rather did not want to know, so to be released we had to do the official technical survey supported by the authorisation from the USA Embassy (yacht flag). The policeman came without his uniform, the surveyor did not have a bank account number and it ended with 300 euro in cash. Oh good, we have met a few people stuck in Greece because of Covid and everybody says the same - bureaucratic disaster.
Now we are stuck in Palermo, as the yacht needs a little technical support but mostly for the weather, we will probably stay till the next Friday.
So, if anybody is around, we will be happy to have some fun for a change.
