Crewing opportunity Valencia, Columbretes Islands, Cabrera Islands and Majorca

Chance Discovery will start her cruise back to the Greek Ionian and Montenegro just before easter 2020.

A week-long cruise of 250 to 300 nm. The plan is to depart from Valencia, Southern Spain and travel via the Columbretes Islands and on to the South of Majorca. This island group are uninhabited and of volcanic origin. We will anchor one night in the crater of the largest. Since 1988 the archipelago has been declared a wildlife reserve. We will then sail to Palma with a chance to visit the spectacular cathedral and Moorish Castle. Thereafter, take in the Cabrera Archipelago National Park. The Cabrera National Park is a group of 19 protected islands sheltering some spectacular underwater meadows where the underwater environment is supposedly among the best in the Mediterranean with very large groupers, octopi, loggerhead turtles and hopefully dolphins playing in the meadows will grace us with a visit. After spending a few days there we will travel up the Eastern coastline of Majorca ending in the North of the island.

ETD is around 8th April and covering the Easter weekend. Weather-wise it should around 15 to 20 Deg C with a dominant wind of 10 to 15 kn wind from the NE which should give a good mix of different points of sail.

Entrance to the Cabrera National Park is limited and a permit has to be applied for well in advance so please contact me early to confirm your wish to join. As is our way, we will be anchoring each day (but on buoys in the marine park). There is a contribution towards costs that covers all boat related expenses, food and drink onboard and the permit to the National Park. Spaces are limited to four only and everyone will share all boat duties including sailing and food prep etc. Two in the twin bunk Pullman cabin and two in the forward double. Or one in the forward double and one in the saloon sea berth. Singles and couples are both welcome.
