Dates for Goodwood Festival of Speed.

If your boom is broken or your daggerboard defective and you can’t get onto the water with your yacht or boat this weekend, what about popping over to the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Provisional Dates: 5th – 7th July 2013

The Festival of Speed is a 3-day event held on the Goodwood Estate near Chichester.   Now in it’s 19th year the Festival attracts crowds upwards of 130,000 all flocking to see what is billed as the largest motoring garden party in the world.  Visitors will see historic motor vehicle climbing the 1.16-mile hill at Goodwood.  From F1 machines to Superbikes there’s plenty to see.   This year sees the Moving Motor Show, a manufacturer’s preview day which allows invitation-only visitors to see the latest models.

Goodwood House is near to the cathedral city of Chichester.  If you are going to the festival of speed then do make time to visit Chichester.  The cathedral was built in the 11th century and along with the Bishop’s Palace Gardens is worth a look.
