{"id":1556,"date":"2013-03-31T15:18:44","date_gmt":"2013-03-31T15:18:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lovesail.com\/ls-news\/?p=1556"},"modified":"2023-09-29T17:51:07","modified_gmt":"2023-09-29T16:51:07","slug":"go-sailing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lovesail.com\/ls-news\/go-sailing\/","title":{"rendered":"Go Sailing!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Once you have caught the sailing bug it\u2019s a very hard one to shake off.\u00a0 But what do you do if you don\u2019t have a yacht or a sailboat? \u00a0How do you go sailing and quench that insatiable thirst for wind and speed?<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Go sailing at work<\/h3>\n<p>One way is to work in the marine industry.\u00a0 A change of direction would mean you could sail 24\/7.\u00a0 There are many opportunities out there from teaching in a school, hosting on a charter yacht or being a galley chef on a superyacht.\u00a0 It\u2019s never too late to change your career.\u00a0 If you truly want to have a job you enjoy then it can be done.\u00a0 With a bit of planning and a dash of enthusiasm, anything can be achieved.<\/p>\n<h3>Go sailing as a volunteer<\/h3>\n<p>There are many worthy nautical charities that are crying out for volunteers.\u00a0 Give some of your spare time and expertise to help others to sail.\u00a0 Whether it\u2019s helping to provide <a title=\"Sail4Cancer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sail4cancer.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">respite days or holidays<\/a> out on the water to teaching <a title=\"Jubilee Sailing Trust\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jst.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">young people<\/a> with and without disabilities to sail a tall ship. \u00a0The list is endless as are the rewards you will receive for helping others less fortunate than yourself.<\/p>\n<h3>Join a sailing network<\/h3>\n<p>There are many online social networking sites on the world wide web where you can meet others that share your nautical passion.
