enthusiasts to navigate around the world&#8217;s oceans. <!--more-->A Notice to Mariners is quite simply a regular update that informs navigators of any changes to these charts. \u00a0These notices can be sent out weekly, bi-monthly or monthly depending on the hydrographic office in question and in either paper or electronic format.<\/p>\n<p>A Notice to Mariners is a very important document for navigational safety and can provide such information as advice on port procedures and\/or requirements, notification of new and updated rules and regulations for navigation, and changes to charts including removal of buoyage. \u00a0If an extended cruising trip is to be taken in unfamiliar territories then it is important to ensure your charts are up-to-date.<\/p>\n<p>In the UK the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ukho.gov.uk\/ProductsandServices\/MartimeSafety\/Pages\/NMPublic.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">United Kingdom Hydrographic Office<\/a> will issue a Notice to Mariners. \u00a0They also have a very useful video explaining how best to update your chart from these notices.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"4148\"
