{"id":4153,"date":"2016-02-17T15:21:16","date_gmt":"2016-02-17T15:21:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lovesail.com\/ls-news\/?p=4153"},"modified":"2022-08-21T11:09:28","modified_gmt":"2022-08-21T10:09:28","slug":"rona-ii-fundraising-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lovesail.com\/ls-news\/rona-ii-fundraising-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"Rona II Fundraising Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Rona II Fundraising Challenge &#8211; Last 3 Places Left<\/h2>\n<p>The Rona Sailing Project is now only a month away from starting their 12-day sailing challenge to help raise funds for Wave 105 Cash for Kids. \u00a0They have 3 places left on the challenge boat and are appealing for adventurous folk to take part in the challenge. <!--more-->\u00a0The money raised from these last 3 places will go to the Rona Sailing Project itself. \u00a0The challenge starts in <strong>Universal Marina<\/strong> on the River Hamble on\u00a0<strong>Monday 21st March 2016<\/strong>\u00a0returning\u00a0<strong>Friday 1st April 2016 <\/strong>sailing\u00a0on the Rona II a 68ft Oyster Ketch. \u00a0There will be a crew meeting this Sunday 21st February for anyone who signs up for the challenge.<\/p>\n<p>The sailing challenge will take you around Lands\u2019 End and the Scilly Isles, into the Irish Sea where you will then sail along the coasts of Ireland, Northern Ireland, The Isle of Man and Wales. \u00a0Once across the Irish Sea to Wales, you will be heading south for home. Passing the Scilly Isles once again and sailing along the South West Coasts of Cornwall, Devon and the Jurassic Coast of Dorset. \u00a0If time allows you may visit a French port before finishing your Challenge back at Universal Marina on the beautiful River Hamble, with a staggering 1500nm added to your logbook. \u00a0A donation of \u00a3600 is suggested for each of the 3 remaining places with all the proceeds going directly to the Rona Sailing Project. \u00a0 This challenge will be an excellent learning, mile-building and training opportunity not to mention a great deal of fun whilst raising
