{"id":6144,"date":"2026-06-16T14:26:30","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T13:26:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lovesail.com\/ls-news\/?p=6144"},"modified":"2026-06-16T15:26:06","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T14:26:06","slug":"linguine-with-clams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lovesail.com\/ls-news\/linguine-with-clams\/","title":{"rendered":"Linguine with Clams"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Galley Recipe &#8211; Linguine with Clams<\/h2>\n<p>Lovesail member and sailor sailingsideways has sent in this delicious galley recipe that she cooks whilst living aboard her Cal39.\u00a0 This quick and simple recipe will make a delicious and nutritious meal after a busy day out cruising the Californian coast.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Did you know linguine translates to &#8220;little tongues&#8221;?\u00a0 This elliptical shaped pasta is similar to spaghetti but flatter giving a bigger surface area for the sauce to cling to.\u00a0 It is popular for use with seafood sauces.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Ingredients (serves 4)<\/h2>\n<p>2 (6.5 ounces) cans minced clams, with juice<br \/>\n1\/4 cup butter<br \/>\n1\/4 cup olive oil<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon minced garlic<br \/>\n1 tablespoon dried parsley<br \/>\nground black pepper to taste<br \/>\n1\/4 tablespoon dried basil<br \/>\n1 (16 ounces) package linguine pasta<\/p>\n<p>Dried or canned ingredients can be used if on passage.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Equipment<\/h2>\n<p>One saucepan and one frying pan or skillet.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Preparation and cooking time<\/h2>\n<p>It takes 5 minutes to prepare and then around 15 minutes to cook.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Method for Cooking Linguine with Clams<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Boil a pan of water and add the packet of linguine, stir to break up and then cook until ready.\u00a0 Then drain and place to one side.\u00a0 Whilst the pasta is cooking prepare the sauce.<\/li>\n<li>In a frying pan add the olive oil over a medium heat and melt the butter along with the oil.<\/li>\n<li>Add garlic to the oil\/butter mix and cook until browned.<\/li>\n<li>Lower heat and add dried spices salt and pepper.<\/li>\n<li>Carefully add cans of clams and juice stir to combine.
