Here’s a bit of fun this week with a sailing word search.\u00a0 The history of the word search seems to date back to the 1960’s.\u00a0 Norman E Gibat designed and published his first word search in 1968.\u00a0 However, a Spanish inventor called Pedro Ocon de Oro had also been playing with the idea and published his Sopas de Letres (soup of letters) in the 1970’s.<\/p>\n
The largest word search has 10,000 words and 129,600 letters, It was created by Ashish Dutt Sharma, in Rajasthan, India, on 18 October 2015.\u00a0 Professor Sharma, Principal of the Apex Institute of Engineering and Technology in Jaipur, designed the word search to help his engineering students learn technical terms and the names of prominent scientists and inventors in English.
