Crew Wanted
Location: Spain
I will be leaving the Spanish mainland for a few weeks cruising around the Balaeric Islands, and possibly beyond, leaving mid-June (dates are flexible). I would be e interested to hear from anybody interested in exploring with me. My boat is a 52-foot classic wooden yacht, quite traditional to sail, and great fun. I have paddleboards and Scuba gear on board.

Many world cruisers pass through our area or come here for refits and/or long term storage. So far I have encountered three people on Lovesail who have their boats here for the long term or for refit. If you are going to be in the area look me up. I am in the boat business and would be happy to give pointers on places to go, things to do, and reputable firms.

From Martinique to Balearics, Mediterranean Sea, in May.
Member: teddybear – At beginning to mid of May I will sail from Martinique to the Balearics, MedSea. We will make a stop at the Azores. Easy-going and experienced Crew is welcomed for this trip.
Sailing the Caribbean 2021 and beyond.
Member: Gregor – I started to fulfill my long-cherished dream in July 2019 and went on a long-term trip. I started in Croatia – Greece – Italy- Sicily – Liparian Island – Sardinia – Balearic Islands – Spain Mainland – Gibraltar- Algarve – Madeira – Canaries – Cape Verde. Arrived Antigua 25/01/2021 will sail around here and the other Caribbean island, depending on the Covid situation and restrictions for the Season 2021 and 2023 and then perhaps into the South Pacific and beyond (everything remains open) and I don’t want to do this journey alone. I’m looking for one kind, open-minded, crewmember preferably female, who likes to sail with me and have a hand for the boat for a part or the whole trip. Own cabin is available. Some sailing experience for crossings would be fine, for coastal sailing and island hopping experience is not essential. I will be glad to teach you some more about sailing. Hop on hop off is possible (almost) at any time. I’m flexible in my timeline and destinations also towards ideas from crewmates, Safety, no time stress and enjoying are a top priority. I’m sailing since more than 20 years and owned my Boat 12 years ago, a save 10m steel yacht of BrucerRoberts equipped with solar power, watermaker, active AIS, EPIRB etc. for long-haul and single-handed with 3 cabins for approx. 4 persons. If you like to discover foreign countries, sailing, hiking, snorkeling, swimming, maybe kite surfing, enjoy a Sundowner, a laid-back lifestyle, get on with the close on board and have enough time-out and want to live your dream then you are welcome. Testsailing is possible and welcome. If you’re interested don’t hesitate do contact me.
Sailing from St Martin to New York.
Member: Sailonrob – New outremer 51 catamaran sailing north march-April 2021 St Martin to New York 1460 miles. Through Bermuda looking for crew. Own cabin.
Cruising Queensland 2021.
Member: QueenslandSailor – Around May every year hundreds of boats make their way up the coast of Queensland towards the Whitsundays and beyond, returning before the cyclone season in November. It is quite a social event, sailing in loose company with other yachts, sundowners on deserted beaches are the norm rather than the exception. I have done this trip twice before and I am looking for someone to share this experience in 2021. You need to be reasonably fit, a non-smoker and no drugs. Experience not necessary, but a sense of humour is, along with a willingness to join in and get involved. Own cabin, share food costs. Dates are flexible.

Tahiti, Tuamotos and Raiatea: December 26 through January 15, and possibly beyond.
I’m excited! I just bought a 2010 Jeanneau 53 and I’ll be sailing her from 26 December forward. The current plan is to visit Moorea, and then the Tuamotos… and then deliver her to Raiatea on January 11. She’ll have some work done to her for a couple of weeks out of the water… I will fly home on 16 January and return on January 30th-ish. My plan is to sail for 2-3 weeks at a time and then fly home for 1-2 weeks… And then repeat for the next six months or so before taking off on further adventures. Would prefer female crew for a possible first-mate relationship, but looking for fun crew first, and let’s see where that goes ;)
British Virgin Islands to the Azores
So another chance to sail the Atlantic. Likely only a place or so available as many of my lovely crew from previous passages also want to make this trip. Anyway if you are interested please read my blogs; crewing on Azura and seamanship of the interpersonal variety and perhaps what’s it like to cross an ocean. All can be accessed from my profile page. This trip will start from the British Virgin Islands and will take us around the northern edge of the Azores high as we try to sail the Center edge of the Atlantic gyre. It’s a magic trip and one I have done many times. The highlight is of course the Azores and Peter’s cafe perhaps the most famous rendezvous place for sailors. This trip will be around 18-23 days from the British Virgin Islands. So leaving around the 5-7 of June we will be in Horta towards the end of the month. You need to be fit enough to do the trip and stand a watch. The Atlantic is not a trip for those who have not sailed before so you should have done some overnights and ocean sailing. Men and women are equally welcome as shipmates aboard. A good painter who can paint Azura’s sign on the wall in Horta would be a bonus! If your a great seagoing cook that’s also a bonus although we all share that role aboard. so if you are interested do get in touch. Those who have already contacted me and sailed with me before don’t worry you have first priority but I suspect we will have a place for at least one crew member. Azura will cruise the Azores for a few weeks before sailing on to the stunning Rias of NW Spain. Fair winds all from quarantine in NZ. Azura sits waiting for me in Grenada as I spend Xmas at home. May I wish you all the joys of the seasoN Nigel AKA Cappie
