About Me:

About me, god I hate these things, but here we go. I was an avid four-wheeler for many years (Jeep/Toyota). Camping, Horseback Riding (had a training facility for a while), Rock Climbing, Biking, ect ect, I think you are getting the idea. Anything outdoors for the most part, kind of do not like feeling confined in a small space.

I have always had a thing for the ocean and have always been fascinated by boats, and what I have heard about the cruising lifestyle. I remember the fist time I was out on a sailboat with my uncle many years back. The first time was a smaller boat (a Catalina 30 I found out), and I loved the feeling of how it felt like gliding across the water. Then I got to go out on his 68-foot Katch, that was something amazing. I can still remember how the boat felt loose as we motored out past the brake water, then the sails went up! The way the deck and rigging seemed to come alive and tighten up as we turned to catch the wind and sail. All that could be heard when the motor was cut was the wind, waves, and soft classical music that he always put on when the sails went up. A feeling that is still there every time the sails go up today.

I love to travel and see new places, and meet the people that live there. Because of this I kind of figure that a sailboat is the way to go. What better way to see the word!? Someone once said, “it is not the destination, it is the journey”, I see the truth in this.

I am currently looking for a 45 to 55 foot Katch or Cutter rig to do this on. I will confess to being a little overwhelmed by the amount of information out there on different boats, but I think it is worth it to take the time and to the homework. So many books to read! Figure spend a couple of years in the Bay Area (or somewhere else) getting familiar with what I find and getting her ready, then never looking back while chasing sunsets.

Sailing Experience:

Sadly not much, but then again that is one of the reasons that I am here. Looking to change this.
Many years back a Cat 28, and an 68 foot Katch.
As of late a Cat 34, Cat 32, Cat 42 and a few different J boats, and a 70 mile race through the Delta on a hand made boat from 61, and mostly first mate on a 56 foot cutter for day trips around the bay area, and out the gate for people with PTSD. Hunter 45

Well it is happening, pulling the trigger and seeing what happens. Found a boat that I like that is a little bigger that I was looking for, but really like. Paperwork filled out and offer being submitted on the morrow. Let us see what happens

Ok, so I go the rudder issue fixed, YAYAYA! After a couple friends and I sitting in the cockpit and looking at the issue of the chain jumping off the sprocket in the Binickal, and wondering how the f*** did that happened? I am sure the ladies would enjoy that one, three guys trying to figure out how…

Wow!! what a weekend. Those of us with boats I am sure know the "we plan this, but ended up doing this" statement. Well that about sums up this weekend past. What was to be a nice two boat sail out and anchor for the night off of Angel Island in the San Francisco bay, turned into a WTF and…

Good daySo here is the situation. I am first mate on a boat for a non-profit for people with PTSD, and we just got another boat so that we can take more people out on the bay. Valor (the flag ship of the program) will most likely have crew for her, the Hunter 45 we are working on does not as of yet,…

I am wondering if there is anyone out there that has done that to there boat or knows of someone tha…

January is free

My work is seasonal and it being winter time it is the slow time. Would love to find someone looking for some crew to get some sailing in. Cannot think of a better way to spend new year than being somewhere on a boat. I have a valid passport and am willing to travel (prefer somewhere warm). Let us g…
