- About Me:
I realized I'll need to teach anyone I date how to sail, so why not start with people who already enjoy sailing? It won't be for a while, but eventually I'd love to spend several years circumnavigating.
Lately I've been spending my time:
-Raising an incredible 15-year-old son.
-Hanging out with people I care about.
-Reading, lately a mix of fiction and non-fiction.
-Hiking. California is so beautiful, I'd like to start doing some landscape photography.
-Cooking. I love to cook and am often thinking about what to cook next.
-Writing software. I realize this might sound boring to anyone who doesn’t do it, but I love it. I'm working at a company developing a DNA sequencing test to try to detect cancer early. I feel lucky to be doing work I find meaningful.
- Sailing Experience:
I've been sailing on and off since I started with the tech dinghies in college. I sailed in Santa Cruz, CA and the San Francisco Bay in the 90s. Then ten years in the midwest where I sailed in the summers on Lake Mendota in Madison, WI. While I was there I wrote an Android app for the Lake Mendota buoy data for other sailors. Now I'm back in the San Francisco Bay area. Last year I sailed out of Redwood City with the Spinnaker Sailing club, and this year I'm planning to sail more around San Francisco.
