- About Me:
Long-time sailing enthusiast with an adventurous lively spirit and down-to-earth soul. I have dreamt of exploring this beautiful planet under sail. Now that I'm at a point in my life where I can afford to do it, I find myself missing one very crucial thing, a lovely, passionate, intelligent, outgoing, open-minded and equally adventurous partner.
Please be progressive socially, self-aware, with a deep respect for other cultures, nature, and the health of our oceans and planet. If you're nerdy and a science geek with an alternative side, even better! Life is short, let's go on an exciting life-altering adventure together and travel the world while we are still young and healthy and can enjoy it. I will supply the boat and be your captain or we can co-captain this journey if you already know how. Let's have fun and blog and vblog our way across the globe, and work remotely when needed. We can volunteer our time to help local communities in need along the way as well.
Don't worry, I'm not looking to set sail tomorrow. Nature and life has to work its magic with us first. I can wait a few years for the right person to free-up their time. I have plenty other interests to keep me busy so it's not all about sailing and travel.
I love the outdoors and doing physical activities, hiking, flying (I'm a commercial pilot-for fun only), cooking, skiing, spontaneous road trips, tinkering with anything mechanical or electrical, woodworking, playing guitar. I'm always studying things that interest me and learning something new. Don't be surprised to see me reading a book on quantum physics and sewing sails in the same day. I have been called a renaissance man by a few people. I really like that label actually. There is always music playing in my house and I have a wide interest from EDM to rock to Indie folk. I'm a foodie, gin drinker, and craft beer connoisseur. I have been known to drive hours to sample the best lobster roll, clam chowder, burger, etc. I could spend all day snuggling on the couch with my partner binging on good movies and buttered popcorn or all morning in the bunk drinking coffee and listening to the rain pour down on the boat.
Relationships don't work without trust, honesty, passion, loyalty, friendship, intimacy, playfulness, compromise, laughter, acceptance, romance, respect, equality, and matching world and moral views. You need to be raving fans of one another. And kissing, lots and lots of kissing! ;-)
I'm in the process of trying to find my perfect bluewater ketch right now. Maybe we can find one together. ;-)
If any of this intrigues you, definitely say hello.
*** No Trump supporters please as we DO NOT have the same moral foundation and view of the world ***
- Sailing Experience:
I have sailed monohulls from 26'-50'. Have mainly sailed around New England and the BVIs. I really look forward to setting sail for a multi-year liveaboard cruising adventure. Have crewed on long distance offshore deliveries from New England to BVIs via Bermuda. Competent navigator, weatherman, helmsman, and sail trimmer, plus a darn good ship's mechanic and electrician.
- Sailing Qualfications:
I am a member of US Sailing and have completed basic keelboat, basic cruising, bareboat cruising, coastal navigation, coastal passagemaking, and offshore passagemaking certifications. I intend to get my basic keelboat instructor certification at some point and teach. Slowly working on my USCG captain's license and hope to run sailing charters at some point.
