Ahoy, Future First Mate!

I’m a proud Sarasota native whose love for the sea started early—summers in the Florida Keys hunting lobsters and scuba diving with family on a trusty powerboat set my course. Inspired by my father’s passion, I even served in the US Navy right after high school (though my chance to travel the world was delayed when my submarine was still under construction during my supply keeper days).

After college in Atlanta, I moved to Texas and built a successful career in IT Security for healthcare while raising two amazing boys. But life had more adventure in store. In summer 2022, I discovered sailing in all its glory. I dove into an introductory sailing course and then joined a racing team on Lake Grapevine—enjoying the rush of chasing that checkered flag, the lively social scene (I admit, I might have enjoyed a drink or two too many), and the undeniable camaraderie of the crew.

Determined to expand my skills, I embarked on a whirlwind journey that truly put my newfound passion to the test. My adventure started in May in Valencia, cruising on a sleek SunOddesy 41′ before partying in Ibiza. I then upgraded to a 55′ Lagoon, sailing from Palma to Mahon, crossing over to Palermo via the Messina, and onward to Malta. In Gozo, I revisited my early lobster-hunting days by getting certified as a freediver—refining the skills that first connected me to the ocean’s depths. Continuing on, I sailed to Chania and explored the enchanting islands of Greece. The highlight of the trip was a breathtaking passage through the Corinth Canal, where I captured stunning 1,000-foot cliff wall views with my drone. I wrapped up my summer in Montenegro, spending the winter discovering hidden gems, skiing, and exploring the rest of mainland Europe.
