Looking to share my love of sailing and the ocean. While I would describe myself as being relatively new to sailing, I am devoted and a quick learner. I'm looking forward to expanding my experience to passage making and eventually open ocean. I have a background in oceanography (first career, before medicine) and am very at home on the water, having spent almost 10 years doing coastal oceanographic surveys along the Pacific Coast from San Onofre up to Prince Rupert and even the Beaufort Sea.

Sailing on Columbia River in Portland OR for several years weekly, racing culminating in Master Class Rubicon from Solent to Oban, 3 years ago now. Now working in the Bay Area and taking ASA coastal at Trade Winds school in Richmond looking to advance over the next 6 - 9 months to Offshore Passage Making. Looking forward to getting out into the open ocean. I’m very at home on the water (coastal swimmer, started SCUBA in 1970 and dove for about 10 years up and down Pacific Coast as first career was in Oceanography
