Although I am Canadian, I was born and raised in Japan. In hindsight, I can say that it's an interesting way to develop an understanding of cultural differences. I started sailing dinghies in my youth and progressed to large keel boats as the years progressed. I currently spend my free time cruising the beautiful coast of British Columbia in my offshore-rigged sailboat, a Fast Passage 39. When I'm not sailing, I work as a professional photographer, a profession which takes me abroad on a constant basis.

- Started racing 420 & 505 class dinghies from early youth and for the last 20 years, have been sailing keel boats on or off the British Columbia coast. I have extensive sailing experience in offshore conditions, mostly in Japanese or Canadian waters.
