About Me:

Sailing is in my blood. My grandfather from Rīga, Latvia crewed on the Port Jackson, 4 masted barque (see photograph), purportedly faster than the Cutty Sark. I race dinghies and yachts, but could be persuaded to try fast cruising in sunnier climes!

Sailing Experience:

RORC racing, best race Cowes-Cherbourg beating 176 yachts in 30 knots of wind.
Dinghy sailing at Bala, Leigh and Lowton, King George, Welsh Harp 24 hour race on Fireball, Southport 24 hour race on GP14.
Sailing Trug with my father, a topsail ketch built 1905 on Blackwater (Essex Boy).
Other boats: Sigma 38, Bénéteau 40.7, Corby 45, Laser, GP 14, Solo, Lark, National 12, Fireball, 505.
Racing going good, collected 4 trophies in 2021.
Equal 3rd in Bala Massacre and won Commodores Cup, Tegid Cup, Pen y Boat Vase, and 2nd in Bala August Regatta Fast and Slow Handicap in 2022.

Sailing Qualifications:

RYA Day Skipper and Yacht Master theory.
RYA Powerboat Level 2.

Numerous RORC Cross Channel races.
