About Me:: Retired scientist, Naval Engineer, I have only sailed very small boats. Am looking for to learning to sail a 40 ft catamaran and then do the gulf of Mexico to gain knowledge and then sail around the world. I am looking for someone to be a life's partner in this adventure.
Sailing Experience:: Does a sunfish count- a dinghy with a sail! I have sailed huge Navy ships on occasion, used stadimeters and sextants, can plot courses or use manuevering board. I know water systems, small engines, solar and electric systems. I spent a year on a 56 foot LCM-6 with two grey marine engines and our crew of five navigating the rivers of Vietnam (not much fun). I want to downsize my experience to a catamaran and learn to sail.
