I'm a lifelong sailor and I'm in Rio Dulce for hurricane season and doing a full rerig (standing & running) prior to heading around S America in late Oct. I lost my wife and best friend of 26 years last June so I decided that I'd go find myself by sailing... covered 3700 miles last year and it's been good for my soul.

Born and raised in a Swedish wood boat building family on the S Oregon coast. I commercial fished from the Bering Sea to Peru. I also have extensive long distance cruising sailing experience. I've typically owned wood boats... the last one was a gaff rigged Bristol Channel cutter. This is my first plastic boat... it's a French built Dufour 38 and I'm adapting to all this new high tech stuff... but I'm still an old-school sailor.
