I am a semi-retired architect, live on a dirt road in the woods and spend as much time as I can on and around the water in a 15' Lyman skiff and racing a 20' one-design keelboat.

I have sailed and raced my 20' Small Point One Design since I was 10, have cruised the East coast between Nova Scotia and the Chesapeake in larger boats since I was 14. Have crewed in 2 Newport-Bermuda races and one Marblehead-Halifax race. Have been a bareboat charterer in the Caribbean, the Baltic and the Ionian seas. I was a Hurricane Island Outward Bound instructor, taking groups of 12 students for 7-day expeditions in 32' wooden sailboats on the Maine coast. I was Course Director for the Thompson Island Outward Bound Sea Program in Boston Harbor for one summer.
- Sailing Qualifications:

Coast Guard 50-ton master's license, near coastal auxiliary sail (I allowed it to expire while raising a family). Certified by the American Sailing Association for bareboat charter (#104).
