I am a very active and fit guy in my sixties. I have recently completed 4 continuous years of backpacking around much of the world.
This involved thousands of kilometres of mountain hiking each year, together with other outdoor activities including sailing and scuba diving.
Traveling slowly at ground-level, I enjoyed meeting and socialising with a wide variety of younger and older travellers as I couchsurfed; stayed in hostels; and joined expeditions.
I also love the teamwork and friendship of sail cruising, together with being totally immersed in the challenge and natural beauty of the marine environment. - Sailing Experience:

I have chartered and skippered yachts in the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
More recently, I have joined as crew on owner/skipper yacht deliveries.
My most recent sailing experience was a two-handed delivery of a 41' cutter from Palau, Micronesia to the Solomon Islands in December 2017.
I am about to head off as crew on a 3 month leisurely cruise around the Greek Islands on a Bavaria 56. I must have been born lucky! - Sailing Qualifications:
