About Me:
-
Timber boat builder/restorer, bamboo bicycle builder, with many and varied work and pastime experiences.
I have a 9.5 metre sloop which I race and cruise, currently in Moreton Bay but with plans to sail further afield in time.
I spend my time sailing, cycling and motorcycle touring. Always open to adventure.
Honesty and forthrightness are very important values to me as are kindness and empathy.
I try to live a low-impact lifestyle in an effort to make as minimal impact as possible on our suffering planet.

Sailing Experience:
-
Bought my first boat, a MKII Moth, from a neighbour just before I began a four year boat building apprenticeship in 1974 and have been boating and sailing ever since.
I spent 10 years racing a variety of yachts in ocean races out of the Mooloolaba Yacht Club through the '80's as well as many deliveries and cruises on the Australian east coast.
Obtained a Master Class V and Offshore Yachtmaster certification in '90.
Crossed the Pacific in '96 on a 45 ton, 60' steel sloop with a crew of 2 others from BC, Canada to Bundaberg, Queensland.
Have done many trips as skipper or crew in various parts of the world including the western Caribbean, Malaysia, Vanuatu and a couple of trips to the Antarctic peninsula.
