Who am I? Just an easy-going guy who tries to be kind, and thankful, for every day. "Dad" to a wonderful daughter. (nurse in Vancouver Canada ... YAY!). Happy and healthy, but looking to share life with that someone special, seeking the same... to love and be loved.
Half Greek and Irish, I'm drawn to the poetic and the epic in all things. A native Californian, I grew up near the beach, and learned outdoor play and adventure from an early age. ENFJ. Natural curiosity, and a background in physics often leaves me in awe of the ordinary... I love games of imagination, especially with kids, because who knows? Sometime dreams really do come true!
Making time to unplug and 'go Analog', fully immersed in the Present, is really important to me. My life's best moments are enjoying family, friends and neighbors, sailing, dancing, cooking together, backpacking and camping, deep conversation with total strangers, cycling, playing with kids, tennis, gardening, live music and plays, getting lost in a good book, starry silent skies, daydreaming ... cuddling ... :-)
Gliding between water and sky while rowing is how I exercise and meditate.
I love adventure of all kinds: from Open Studios to that weekend getaway, to cities with centuries, or millennia, of history and culture, to true wilderness. Decades of volunteering for conservation and education helps give me purpose, and has blessed me with close friends from the 'hoods' of Oakland to the most remote places left on the planet...
Although my family is scattered from Vancouver to Reno to Mexico, the weekly Zoom meeting and summer get togethers at the family cottage keeps me close to the most important people in my life. I am on very good terms with the ex after a long marriage, and we celebrate Christmas with our daughter together.
I'm the guy that will walk your dog, bring you the NYTimes with breakfast in bed, and get out of the tent to make the coffee.
Who are you? A fundamentally kind and compassionate person, who doesn't sweat the small stuff. You're a vibrant, fit, educated woman who takes care of herself physically and spiritually, curious about the world, how we got here and where we're going. You’re probably a reader, and care a lot about the food you eat. You're a rich, 'package deal' of treasured family, close friends, and passionate interests that give your life purpose, that you balance with a perhaps pesky day job and other responsibilities. You're up for adventuring: sure, nice hotels, but perhaps also car camping and sailboat cruising. You've thought realistically and boldly about growing older, are financially stable and emotionally available, and feel the best is yet to come.
Who are we?
Friends and lovers, playful co-adventurers in Life, who enjoy sharing and talking about everything from the sublime to the silly. We smile when we see each other, mutually attracted on many levels. We're different, but respect each other's accomplishments and space, encourage each other's interests and activities, and talk about our problems before they fester. We know how to compromise and support each other when sometimes things inevitably aren't so fun: aging parents, job and extended family stress, health, just a bad day. We're happier together, creating a vibrant, welcoming place for everyone in our 'extended bubble', in this big, very scary world.
Especially with Covid, I know it will take time to find that special someone who is imperfect like me, yet can mesh and resonate with vibrance at all levels .. I know you're out there... and once found, 'the glass' won't be just be 'half full'; it will be refillable :-) indeed, if we get along, anything's possible!
If this resonates, let's 'begin the conversation' to see if there's chemistry ... and if so, meet outdoors to see where things go...
my photos are recent and my age is accurate ... I believe a strong relationship must be based in trust.
best of luck to us all in our search.
