Just an old warhorse adrift in the bay. Looking for my chart and compass and wondering why the seat is so lumpy and uncomfortable. Now where did I put those things now that I need them?

I fell in love with sailing aboard a 2 masted schooner while I was on R&R in Sydney from Vietnam. A one day sail around the bay past the Harbor bridge and the Sydney Opera House to an Island terraformed with a huge barbecue/fridge/bar and badminton court on one side and small cozy niches with benches around the other side for private retreats.
40 years ago I lived aboard a 26' American Sloop for a year in San Diego. I loved anchoring east of the Silver Strand with last nights pizza and the San Diego Tribune while watching the sun come up over the San Diego skyline. There were always porpoises and whales just offshore while taking friends to anchor and listen to the San Diego Pops or watch the parade of lights around the bay with all the boats festooned with Christmas lights.
