Sailor, hiker, climber, adventurer. Somewhat civilized, was a failed artist who somehow ventured into engineering. Now a historian of sorts.
Have a boat, a home, 3 young ones who seem well-launched and live elsewhere. Oh, yes, 2 grandchildren, too.
There is more, too much to write here. The story goes on too long, so must be sure that you are not bored.
- Sailing Experience:

Long time one design and sometime offshore racer, but also enjoy passaging or delivering a boat. Among the distance stuff are Annapolis-Newport, Newport-Bermuda, and Marblehead-Halifax races, and some distance racing on LI Sound and Chesapeake Bay. Trips from the Chesapeake to Newport have been done many times, and once from the BVI to Cuba (1000 nm +), where we spent 11 days rock climbing and hiking in Pinar del Rio region (western Cuba). Also once from Bermuda to Halifax, about 800 nm.
Once was a boat builder, but moved on to the aerospace sector, which provided a better footing.
Now own a 33 foot racer-cruiser, and sometimes sail on OPBs (which costs much less!)

Experience - 6000 nm offshore and much small boat racing. Not much in the way of formal "credentials".
