After many years of focus on kids, family and professional life, Im desiring to explore, to wander a bit and adventure. A mix of a homesteader and a gypsy, balance is at times hard to achieve. I find the natural world (mountains or sea) a place that feeds something deep in me.
- Sailing Experience:
- I have been sailing and adventuring for almost three decades. Bahamas, Sea of Cortez and mostly the Salish Sea. Ive owned three boats and currently own a Catalina 42. Every summer for 25 years I haven’t missed the trek North to the San Juan’s, Guif Islands and points North. I went to San Carlos Mexico last May to look at a possible blue water cruiser for a Sea of Cortez semi-retirement plan and returned home to a divorce. I thought my co-captain had the same cruising and retirement plans as me. Surprisingly and apparently not. Since then, Ive spent much of the last year, re-tooling and re-rigging my professional life, retirement and boat for a much different last 30-35 (fingers crossed) years. SV Namaste will have to be my Mexico and southern destination adventure companion and whoever shows up as crew.

My sailing qualifications, like life, have all come from showing up, making mistakes and learning from them. Sailing, like my sons birth 22 years ago, was a love at first sight. The very first broad reach exiting Cattle Pass, headed East towards Ice Berg Pt. was all it took 27 years ago.
