About Me:
-
Optimistic, Open, Curious, with an eye for elegant design and a thirst for experiences.
Love good food, virtually all forms of music.
I don't believe camoflage is suitable dating attire, I don't wear ball-caps backwards, and I don't spend my weekends watching men drive in circles (why is is always counter-clockwise?)

Sailing Experience:
-
After watching a Mr. Peabody cartoon when I was 12, I decided I could sail and went (with an equally clueless friend) and checked out a sunfish at the local sailing center. The outing was a disaster (who knew a dagger-board was so important?) but I was hooked.
In college (The Citadel - Class of '87) I had delusions of adequacy and decided to walk-on to the football team. After seeing the sheer size of my potential teammates, I asked where the sailing team met. There I met my skipper, Teddy Turner (Ted Turner's son) who taught me but a smidgen of what he knew, but more than I ever realized. That guy could find wind in a locked closet.
After twenty years away from sailing, I moved back to Charleston. A wonderful person to whom I shall be forever indebted reawakened my sailing chi and I joined the Charleston Ocean Racing Association as well as the College of Charleston Sailing Association (the best kept secret in the city of sailors).
I crew on a J-130 (Sceptre, with the great Bob Mursor) and typically single-hand J-22's.
