After being in the navy for over ten years, i miss the sea. I miss being at sea and sailing. I have gone on cruises and wanted to spend the majority of my time on deck watching the sea. I have been land locked for a long time and are looking to retire soon would love to sail from Vancouver/victoria south to the Panama canal and spend a few years in the caribean and maybe over to spain/france.
- Sailing Experience:
- my job in the navy was operations so i have a good understanding of navigation and radar, mapping and all seaman ship tasks, i can manage most repairs and cook a mean stew for lunch. As we used to say to newbies, i have been farther down my kit-bag than you have down the coast. I have crossed the equator on 3 occasions, sailed up through the allusions, been to Hawaii numerous times (cant remember the number) and sailed right past Vladivostok Russia, spend time in Korea, japan, hong kong, Australia and new zeland. i dont have the yearning to travel across the pacific as it stands right now but maybe after a couple of years, i have sailed through typhoons on 2 occasions and didnt get sea sick, doesn't mean i want to do it again. I love the Caribean and the history of the islands, could spend years travelling from island to island. enjoying all that it offers.
- Sailing Qualifications:

I currently have no quilifications but as above i do know radar, navigation and map reading. i know there are knowledgeable women who are sailors and i respect everyone of you, i will learn quick and prove i can help where and when needed. I have done some diving, not so good with freestyle but can knock the heck out of a tank of air.
