Bora Bora, Fatu Hiva

If the very sounds of French Polynesia make your timbers shiver, consider the prospect of a part share in a SoPac boat – something fairly cheap and very cheerful. I’m looking at 36-40′ boats around Tahiti for £35-60K online with view to heading out towards the Autumn to recce a few, buy one, keep it in French Pol for a while then head West, ultimately to NZ. Would love to share this adventure.

Rochefort to Asturia (Northern Spain)

I am moving Dutch Courage of Cowes (Southerly 115) from Rochefort to Santander, and probably onto to Gijon between 8 May and 25 May. Will drive down to boat, although need a couple of days to sort stuff out. Could also pick crew up from La Rochelle (Airport, bus to town centre). I would normally do this alone, but am happy to take 1-2 crew if interested. This is not a long trip, and would sort someone wishing to get watch experience including night sailing. An interest in tapas and Wine would be a bonus. Dutch Courage has twin forward crossover berths, and if needed, a larger double berth converted in the saloon. I am based on the East Coast, but am in Lymington this weekend (22-23 May) and on the IOW the week after. Would rather have a brief glass of something face to face with anyone interested before committing as I’ve not used this service before.

June 25th depart allow 3-6 weeks to Azores.
From the Azores to Lisbon end of August.
Bluewater boat with Iridium Sat phone / AIS (AIS also in lifejackets) / Personel EPIRBS / Ships EPIRBs / Ocean safety 4 man liferaft / Dan Buoy / Oscar sling / Well fitting and tight Jack Lines / Tethers / 2 x EVO autopilots / Very comfortable and well founded yacht.
Would you like some sea miles? This is not a delivery so waiting for ideal conditions (swell and wind) is the way I play it. Crossing Biscay (see my profile photos) it was cruising chute most of the way.
1 crew needed Villamoura – Ayamonte – Maderia – Azores.
1 crew needed Azores – Lisbon.

Medway – Dartmouth July 2017

Taking more shape now and as the X Channel Regatta is crewed, I can put a bit more certainty on the first bit. This is a round the south coast sail from the River Medway to Dartmouth.
Starting, Friday after work or early Sat morning, 30 June or 1 July. A shake down sail planned for the Saturday and then head off on a 400 mile trip. We have about 5 days to do a 3 day trip. Intending to get to Dartmouth by the Wednesday that week.
This gives us a day or two in hand as well.
We already have one person signed up who is a very capable yacht person, meaning we could accommodate a wide range of sailing experience for the other places.
This passage also lends itself to drop off or collections on the route, Ramsgate, Dover, Brighton, Gosport, Weymouth etc. Not all of them planned!!
Very happy to discuss options or answer any questions.

Feb ’17. Florida to Columbia and yonder

Hi looking to change everything and start a new.
Getting a catamaran in florida in jan/feb, going to cuba then down to Columbia at a leisurely pace bumping into the islands. Then NZ, OZ, Thailand etc.
I need some help though, like someone who knows how to sail, navigate and basic boat stuff. I never sailed before apart from coastal day sails.
Looking for some good female companionship, no strings attached. Someone with sailing, navigational, weather forecasting experience and a few good yarns to tell is always entertaining. Bad choices make for interesting stories I say.
Im really easygoing, funny, flexible and open minded to new ideas. I just need help with the sailing really.

Seeking crew to sail a 22-meter classic wooden Yawl from Greece to the Canary Islands.

Hi all,

I am seeking 2-4 crew members to sail my VEGA from Greece to the Canary Islands this Fall.

I know this is a last-minute call but we decided to leave the Ionian Sea and head out West to the Canary’s before winter arrives. We will depart from Preveza in Greece on Sept. 17 and hope to reach Las Palmas in Gran Canariy by end of November.

This trip is offered on a shared cost basis, which means we share costs for food, fuel and any fees (no repairs or such though). You can join for the whole trip or individual legs, which are planned as follows:

    • Leg 1: Sa, 17.09.2016 – Sa, 24.09.2016 Preveza, GR – Syracus, IT (300 nm)
    • Leg 2: Sa, 24.09.2016 – Sa, 01.10.2016 Syracus, GR – Cagliari, IT (300 nm)
    • Leg 3: Sa, 08.10.2016 – Sa, 15.10.2016 Cagliari, IT – Palma de Mallorca, ES (300 nm)
    • Leg 4: Sa, 22.10.2016 – Sa, 29.10.2016 Palma de Mallorca, ES – Formenterra, ES (100 nm)
    • Leg 5: Sa, 29.10.2016 – Sa, 05.11.2016 Formenterra, ES – Marbella, ES (350 nm)
    • Leg 6: Sa, 05.11.2016 – Sa, 12.11.2016 Marbella, ES – Gibraltar (50 nm)
    • Leg 7: Sa, 12.11.2016 – Sa, 26.11.2016 (1080 nm) Gibraltar – Las Palmas, Gran Canaria (720 nm)

We hope this works out weather wise. Legs 4 and 6 are intentionally shorter to put in some buffer and also for taking up new provisions before the long leg and to recoup from the earlier trips.

Shark Bay, Western Australia, Sept 2016

Hi, I have a lovely F-9AX Trimaran and will be sailing her around Shark Bay in Western Australia this September.
Shark Bay is one of my favorite sailing destinations, it is spectacular, full of wildlife with plenty of anchorages to explore. The boat sleeps 4, is quite comfortable, shallow draft, easy to sail and pretty quick.

Community Boat

I have an idea.I own a classic sailing boat, 80 years old, with major updates made recently. She is ready to sail across the world. And I would love to turn her into, or use her as, a home base for people from all over the world who are seeking a challenge, adventure, and different life style. The ship has been fully paid for but requires an investment (repairs, fees, running costs) of about 15.000 Euro a year, which comes out at 1250 Euros a month. If I can find 3 people who live and work from the boat, that would be about 400 Euro a month. With more people (I can host up to 6) costs could come down to as little as 200 per month. This is a pretty cheap rent and is only for boat maintenance and keeping her in good condition. It does not include living expenses.Anyway, my idea is to find people who love this idea and are able to work location independent from the boat and enjoy a free lifestyle on earths oceens, going anywhere we, as a group or community, would like to go to.

It is a social experiment. I want to put out this idea to see if there is any feedback from the sailing community here.

My boat, is a classic yawl with two masts and a lot of deck space for running workshops or carrying goods.

We could, for example, run humanitarian or envrionmental projects, give workshops, teach sailing, you do your own stuff, whatever …. There are many options and I am open for ideas of any kind, however strange they maybe.

So lets see if fhis idea takes foot and develops in any direction. Please dont hesitate to contact me with the most crazy ideas you can think of. Anything is possible.

Thanks for your consideration. Looking forward to hearing your ideas.

Southern Belle

I arrive in Barcelona early May and would love to meet friends for sailing in the Med. Please review my profile for my sailing experience on my 28′ O’Day in Ft Lauderdale. Love sailing and very excited to spend time in Europe. If anyone is looking for crew and friendship, I would be delighted to hear from you.Born in South Carolina and lived most of my life in Atlanta, GA, a true southern belle.

Corfu and Southern Adriatic

I am looking for crew (inexperienced is ok) for the 2 weeks 29/03/16 to 13/04/16.
My yacht is a 1998 Jeanneau Sun Odyssy 36.2, sleeps 6 in 3 cabins. She is moored in Corfu and the plan is to sail to the Greek islands NW of Corfu, Othonoi and Erikousa, then head NE to Kotor in Montenegro …. Returning to Corfu at the end of the 2 weeks . The cheapest flights ex-UK seem to be from London.
Cost: we’d share fuel, food and mooring fees.
Anyone interested please contact me asap, thanks.

North Wales to the Med.

Looking for 2 female crew to sail my Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 49 at a leisurely pace to the Med. Stopping at a few ports on the East coast of Ireland. Brest, La Rochelle, Vigo and any interesting places on the way. leaving 3rd May or thereabouts depending on weather.

Bristol Channel Sailors

Classic GRP Cruiser-Racer; Holman designed Northney 34 looking for regular competent Crew – Based S Wales Coast. Experienced (female) owner-skipper (RYA YM) looking for 2-3 regular crew (male or female) to cruise and possibly race bristol Channel, West coast Europe down to Gib/Azores in 2016. The 2017 plan is to go to Azores in May; then cross to Cuba after the hurricane season and spend some time there. Then on to USA for a while. Shared expenses.
Boat is ex Royal Navy training vessel (1970-1985) and has since spent some years in Med in 1990’s – she visited 20 countries. You need to have an empathy with traditional yachts it’s a good seagoing yacht, not a floating caravan.
