One of the Lovesail members “Sgiud” is a true sailing traveller. He has just added a greenland crewing post to his profile and is looking for crew for a trip to the East Coast of Greenland.
The Bristol Channel is a notoriously challenging stretch of water. With the second-highest tidal range in the world, it demands great skill and deep local knowledge to navigate its strong currents, shifting sandbanks, and frequent high winds.

This year the Southampton Boat Show 2018 will celebrate 50 years of boating festivities. The show runs from Friday 14th September until Sunday 23rd September and, as usual, will be located at the Mayflower Park venue as it has been for the last 50 years.

The SS Varvassi was a 3.874-ton Greek merchant steamship that became infamous for running aground off the Needles Lighthouse, Isle of Wight on January 5th 1947.
In 5 days time 18 sailors will leave Les Sables-d’Olonne in western France to circumnavigate the globe. A journey of 30,000 nautical miles, they must travel alone, non-stop and without any outside assistance, that is to say without any modern technology or the benefit of satellite-based navigation equipment. As if that wasn’t challenging enough they have to sail in a similar vessel to those that took part in the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race some 50 years ago.
